To Congressional Leadership in the U.S. House:

Our country has seen record numbers of illegal border crossings under President Joe Biden's watch. Recently, an all-time record of 302,000 illegal migrant encounters occurred at our southern border. Since President Biden has taken office over 7 million encounters have occurred at the border. That does not include the 2 million known "got-aways" and those who entered undetected.

The strain on our nation's infrastructure and communities is incalculable and nearing a breaking point. Among Americans, there is bipartisan astonishment at the failure of leadership in our federal government to secure our border. After the cross-border attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists, there should be a greater understanding of the national security nightmare that is being ushered in by the Biden administration.

The open border is fueling human trafficking and the fentanyl crisis. As Speaker Johnson rightfully pointed out during the House delegation's visit to the southern border to assess the situation, the situation at the border is an "unmitigated disaster."

This chaos is not contained at the border as every state is now dealing with hundreds or even thousands of illegal immigrants, fentanyl, and the scourge of human trafficking. The American people know something must be done, and soon. They also know the lawlessness starts at the top, with President Joe Biden.

We ask that you use all available leverage, whether it be the power of the purse through the appropriations process and/or the oversight authority to investigate the Executive Branch, and to pass legislation, to stop the flow of illegal immigrants, drugs, human trafficking, and more, across our nation's southern border.

We cannot allow this crisis to worsen. It is urgent that Congress act right away!
