FRC Action

January 06, 2014 - Monday

I come to you today with a very straightforward -- and very serious -- request: Please renew your support for FRC Action for this New Year of 2014.

I ask boldly for two crucial reasons: the past, and the future.

The past is our rock-solid track record of highly effective work on Capitol Hill and across the nation representing your values, fighting for faith, family, and freedom.

The future is what we're facing right now:

They call it a "mid-term" election, but it will have a profound impact on your future, and the future for your children and grandchildren.

By this time a year from now, we could have a "whole new ball game" in Washington, D.C. -- because what happens in the House of Representatives this November will shape our nation.

And until then, we must hold the line in the current House of Representatives against President Obama trying to ram through legislation that would be catastrophic.

Here is the 2014 plan for victory I urgently ask you to support:

1. Our Strategy for the Coming Election

The House of Representatives is where we have the greatest potential to make the greatest impact -- to secure your religious liberties ... and keep America from descending into a quagmire of self-destructive socialism.

This is urgently important because President Obama and his allies in Congress appear to be on a search-and-destroy mission when it comes to religious liberty. This administration has expressed its hostility to religious freedom at every turn: in the workplace, in the military, everywhere.

But the firewall is the House of Representatives. And with your strong support today, FRCA will make a tremendous difference in using ads, videos, phone calls, literature, and other communications to alert voters to the real issues in key elections across the country, including key House races.

We have the potential in this election to produce one of the most conservative Houses in history -- with the balance of House leadership tipping toward the conservatives. FRCA will be heavily involved in targeted races, where the balance of power is most in play.

We can truly make a difference -- a historic difference -- in 2014.

I urge you to give a 2014 Renewal Gift to FRC Action because we have momentum -- and this momentum must be maintained. And that means we must have a strong financial start to the year.

2. Our Strategy Until the Coming Election

The Left knows it is at risk this November in the House elections. So they are going all-out to impose their goals by passing far reaching laws that will have catastrophic results before their time runs out.

For example, we have worked to include protections for the religious liberties of chaplains and our servicemen and women in the National Defense Authorization Act. We are closer to winning this battle than ever before. But this success has happened against a backdrop of something much bigger than a single piece of legislation....

This issue has touched a nerve with many, many people, and it has set the stage for the establishment of a much broader coalition. As the Obama administration continues to unleash increasingly liberal policies, this coalition must stand stronger and stronger against them.

It's critically important because of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), a dangerous bill that would destroy the religious liberties of Christian employers and employees.

This law would mandate Christian businesses -- including some ministries, and most Christian bookstores, radio stations, and more -- to hire those openly engaged in immoral and unhealthy sexual behavior.

We're keeping this terrible legislation bottled up in the House, but we've got to solidify the firewall around religious freedom in the workplace by ensuring that we have more conservatives in the House.

We must also continue to fight for the repeal of ObamaCare.

Across the board, we must continue to educate the American people about how important religious liberty is. Our message is simple but enormously important: Everything we care about hinges on religious liberty.

But religious liberty is the one thing at greatest risk right now.

We can expect President Obama, Senate Majority Leader Reid, and House Minority Leader Pelosi to pull out all the stops, to "give away the store" in order to reengage the liberals they've lost, before the next election. The liberals will be relentless in their quest to complete the fundamental transformation of America before they run out of time.

Which means this:

If there ever was a time to be vigilant, if there ever was a time to fight liberal policies, it is now.

As the clock ticks toward November, with the President's approval numbers at record lows, with the liberal base fracturing around the edges, the leadership of the Left will be desperate.

We've got to be ready. Your 2014 Renewal Gift will help us to be.

I Need Your Support

We are standing on the brink of a real breakthrough in this country -- or an unthinkable setback. Your response today will carry us forward.

Thank you. God bless you.
