FRC Action's Values Voter Bus to Hold News Conference at Roadside Cross Now Facing Court Ordered Removal

***Media Advisory***

MURRAY, UTAH - On Thursday, Family Research Council Action's (FRC Action) Values Voter Bus Tour will make a stop in Murray, Utah next to a roadside cross that is now facing removal in the court case, Utah Highway Patrol Association vs. American Atheists.  FRC Action and Congressional candidate Carl Wimmer will express deep disappointment in the U.S. Supreme Court's refusal on Monday to hear the case.

The U.S. Supreme Court let stand a Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals decision to remove the 14 crosses bearing the names of fallen Utah state troopers that have been placed at roadside locations. In addition to Utah, the cross removal order will affect five other states including Kansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Wyoming.

The Supreme Court's refusal to hear the case could have significant implications for national memorials and monuments across the nation, including, but not limited to, the crosses on headstones in Arlington Cemetery.

Earlier this year, Family Research Council (FRC) filed an amicus brief in the case and was joined by three United States Senators including Orrin Hatch (R-UT), Mike Lee (R-UT) and Jim DeMint (R-SC) and twelve Members of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Who:  Tom McClusky, Senior Vice President, FRC Action

Carl Wimmer, candidate for US House of Representatives, UT 4th Congressional District

Where: Section 4 Highway Patrol Office

5681 South 320 West

Murray, UT 84107
