When people ask Mike Johnson (R-La.) what it's like to be speaker, he puts it this way, "I feel like a triage nurse on the battlefield. They wheel a bloody body in and yell, 'Stop the bleeding!' And I will, and then turn around and there's another bloody body." Now imagine a patient who doesn't appreciate the work the nurse is trying to do, and you have a pretty good picture of some House Republicans too.

The Biden administration has asked the Supreme Court to overturn a state pro-life protection by arguing that a federal law designed to protect the "unborn child" requires doctors to carry out abortions. In arguments before the Supreme Court, the administration's top legal advocate asked justices to strike down an Idaho law protecting most children from abortion on the grounds that it conflicts with the Emergency Medical Treatment & Labor Act (EMTALA).

Illegal campus occupations have entered their second week while hapless administrators at supposedly elite universities squirm like four-year-olds trying to gain control of a runaway tractor. The protests "don't appear to be dying down at all," Family Research Council Action President Jody Hice noted on "Washington Watch" Friday. As finals and then elections loom, "many people are asking and wondering if the violence is going to spill over into the summer months."

As the Biden campaign continues to push abortion as its primary focus ahead of the November elections, the administration made yet another move to ensure that abortion remains front and center by moving to insert the issue into the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act earlier this month - a move that earned a strong rebuke and lawsuit from a group of 17 Republican state attorneys general.

Planned Parenthood's most recent annual report highlighted increased activity in the U.S., including 1.05 million patients, 9.13 million services, 2.25 million birth control services, 392,715 abortions, and another 1.7 million appointments booked online. But to the dismay of pro-life activists, what may be the most shocking aspect of the data from the report was not the national impact, but the international effect Planned Parenthood has had - a mission they use taxpayer dollars to fund.

Experts are warning of rising anti-Christian hostility - not just abroad, but at home in the U.S. Arielle Del Turco, director of the Center for Religious Liberty at Family Research Council, told The Washington Stand, "International religious freedom groups are monitoring religious freedom conditions in the United States more and more, and it's easy to see why. ... Sadly, American culture is increasingly hostile to traditional Christian beliefs."
