FRC Action PAC Endorses Rep. Kevin McCarthy for Congress in California
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- FRC Action PAC, the political action committee connected with Family Research Council Action, is endorsing Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) in the race for re-election in Congress to represent California's 23rd Congressional District.
FRC Action President Tony Perkins commented:
"Without question, these are challenging times. Our nation is in need of leadership that is not content to just talk about the important issues, but actually work to solve them with bold conservative solutions.
"In nearly a decade as a member of the United States House of Representatives, Rep. McCarthy has been a clear advocate for conservative principles. His record of voting to repeal Obamacare, to defend religious liberty, to protect the unborn, and to end taxpayers' government-mandated partnership with Planned Parenthood make him a candidate who stands for the most fundamental freedoms of Americans. His public support of the Little Sisters of the Poor -- in which he noted that religious freedom is not a secondary right to be tampered with by the government -- has established his staunch commitment to the principles of individual liberty upon which our nation was founded.
"Rep. McCarthy's leadership as House Majority Leader and a member of the Republican Steering Committee has proven he will remain steadfast in his support of the Constitution and the Rule of Law. He has demonstrated an understanding that Big Government is not the answer to the challenges we are facing, as evidenced by efforts to reign in an ever-expanding government bureaucracy. We commend his commitment to our First Amendment freedoms, the right of conscience, and our freedom to live according to our beliefs.
"FRC Action PAC is confident that he will continue to be a strong advocate for faith, family and freedom. It's my great pleasure to offer our endorsement, and we will encourage those who care about the future of our nation and our freedoms to support him as well," Perkins concluded.
