FRC Action PAC Endorses Louisiana Rep. Mike Johnson for U.S. Congress
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- FRC Action PAC, the political action committee connected with Family Research Council Action, is endorsing Louisiana State Representative Mike Johnson in his run for United States Congress in Louisiana's 4th congressional district.
FRC Action President Tony Perkins released the following statement:
"We are at a crossroads in our nation's history and we need a strong leader who will fight for Louisiana's values. As a fellow Louisianan, I have had the opportunity to see first-hand Mike's consistent commitment to the tenets that have made our state and our nation great: faith, family and freedom. I am confident that as a member of Congress he will continue to courageously stand for truth and will challenge the Left's notion that government knows best.
"As a member of the State Legislature, he has championed religious liberty for all. He understands the paramount importance of our First Amendment freedoms and has consistently stood up for our right to believe and live our lives in accordance with our deeply-held religious beliefs. He realizes that all life has intrinsic dignity and has been an advocate for the unborn. His commitment to protecting families and family values has won him the respect of citizens across the state and earned him the Outstanding Family Advocate award from Louisiana Family Forum in 2015. In his years of law practice, he has demonstrated not only a great understanding of the U.S. Constitution but also a commitment to upholding and defending it.
"We at FRC Action PAC are confident that he will be a strong advocate for limited government, for individual liberties, and for family values. Once again, we are pleased to offer our endorsement and will urge those who care about the future of the family and constitutional government to support him as well," Perkins concluded.
