LATEST NEWS

On the heels of a much publicized Gallup poll released Wednesday showing Americans' shrinking support for Israel's war in Gaza over the last four months, another poll is revealing that when people are informed about the Palestinian Authority's (PA) alignment with the terrorist group Hamas, their support for a peace deal between the PA and Israel drops dramatically.

Gem State Republicans are protecting the religious liberty of adoption agencies and parents, some of whom have lost custody of their children due to their religious beliefs. On Monday, Idaho Governor Brad Little (R) signed into law H.B. 578, which prohibits the state government (including departments, agencies, bureaus, boards, councils, courts, etc.) from discriminating in any way against faith-based adoption or foster care agencies or against parents seeking to adopt or foster children based on their religious beliefs.

Last week, the Board of Supervisors in Fairfax County, Virginia, voted unanimously to observe the annual Transgender Day of Visibility - dedicated to celebrating transgender-identifying people - on March 31, which this year coincides with Easter Sunday. The county politicians set aside a day for transgender visibility, even though the objective of "transitioning" from one sex to the other is impossible to achieve. After identifying as a woman for eight years, I had to accept that the magical transformation doctors had promised had not occurred.

A study by Ligonier Ministries and Lifeway Research published in late 2022 offered a startling finding: nearly 60% of professing evangelical Protestants believe Jesus is but one of a number of ways to God. A similar 2021 survey by Probe Ministries documented a similar percentage. This is more than troubling - it is a rejection, whether from ignorance or outright rebellion to God's Word, of the New Testament's teaching about the person and work of Jesus Christ.

In a 9-0 vote on March 19 (with the one Republican absent), the Fairfax County, Va. Board of Supervisors proclaimed March 31 as Transgender Visibility Day. Paying homage to transgender ideology is consistent with the progressive D.C. suburb's past radicalism. And trans activists have observed March 31 as an International Transgender Day of Visibility since 2009. Yet Fairfax County's latest action provoked unusual outrage because, this year, March 31 is also Resurrection Sunday.

It's likely that the 2024 presidential election will be full of twists and turns that will surprise us. But one issue that is almost certainly not going anywhere is abortion, which promises to remain front and center in our political discourse for at least the next eight months. It is frequently in the news, most recently due to the U.S. Supreme Court's oral arguments in FDA v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, a case that will decide the future of the abortion drug mifepristone.
