Chiquita Brooks-Lasure - Administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services

Brooks-Lasure has been involved in health care policy for most of her career. She served in the Department of Health and Human Services in the Obama administration and helped implement the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which provides taxpayer funding for health plans that cover elective abortion. She now works in the private sector promoting access to healthcare. Brooks-Lasure was confirmed as the Administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on May 25, 2021 by a vote of 55-44.

Views on Abortion:

• Brooks-Lasure has had her nomination endorsed by Planned Parenthood who applauded her prior work on “reproductive health” (See link).
• As a lead implementer of the ACA, Brooks-Lasure aided in directing millions in taxpayer funds for Planned Parenthood to promote and explain the new health program. (See link).
