FRC Action PAC Announces Endorsement of Missouri Atty. Gen. Josh Hawley for U.S. Senate

Washington, D.C. -- FRC Action PAC, the political action committee connected with Family Research Council Action, is endorsing Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley for U.S. Senate for the state of Missouri.

FRC Action PAC President, Tony Perkins commented:

“Our nation is at a critical juncture. In November, Americans will have a chance to ensure that the fundamental liberties guaranteed by the Constitution are not sacrificed at the whim of the liberal elite. During Josh Hawley’s professional tenure, he has established himself as an ardent protector of constitutional principles, a man of integrity and principle, and an attorney dedicated to the protection of those freedoms Americans hold most dear. Missourians need a new senator, and we believe Josh Hawley is precisely the kind of national leader they’re desperate for.

“In his time in the Attorney General’s office, he has worked diligently and effectively to combat the opioid epidemic by targeting the unethical marketing practices of opioid manufacturers. As Missouri’s top prosecutor, he has also taken on big government, special interests, and organized crime, including leading the charge on the biggest human trafficking bust in Missouri’s history. His desire to protect the wellbeing of Missourians will serve him well in the U.S. Senate.

“We are impressed by Mr. Hawley’s stellar academic credentials, and likewise by his work as a law clerk at both the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. As a constitutional law professor, he has a clear and thorough understanding of constitutional originalism and separation of powers. His successful litigation record has paved the way for a return to national focus on the fundamental freedom of religious liberty. In the landmark Hobby Lobby case, he fought Obamacare at the Supreme Court and won, thereby ensuring that American employers were not forced to violate their rights of conscience while providing health care benefits for their employees. He was also a lead attorney in the Hosanna-Tabor case at the Supreme Court, in which he successfully protected the rights of churches.

“Missourians need Josh Hawley’s bold commitment to conservative principles, and it’s for this reason we believe him to be an exceptional choice to represent the people of Missouri in the U.S. Senate. We are pleased to join other notable organizations and individuals in offering our endorsement and will urge those who care about the future of our nation and our freedoms to support him as well,” concluded Perkins.
