In an extremely disappointing move, Rep. Charlie Dent (R-Pa) recently voted with House Democrats against over 200 other members of his own party to force states to fund Planned Parenthood with your tax dollars. He needs to hear from you! Tell him you don’t support his vote!

The U.S. House of Representatives voted to overrule Obama's harmful and overreaching regulation that blocked states from defunding Planned Parenthood with federal Title X family planning funds. The House passed Rep. Diane Black's (R-Tenn.) H.J. Res. 43, a joint resolution of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act (CRA) with a vote of 230-188.

Republicans voted 228-2 in support of this resolution to give the power back to the states and shut the backdoor handout for the abortion industry.

Yes, you read that right -- two Republicans voted against allowing states to defund mega-abortion provider Planned Parenthood, an organization that has been twice recommended by congress to the FBI for criminal investigation because of their brutal business practices brought to light through Center for Medical Progress’ recent videos.

It is disappointing that Rep. Charlie Dent (R-PA) was one of these two Republicans who broke with his party to support government funding for the nation’s largest abortion provider. Remember, Rep. Dent also voted against the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act last session. That bill bans abortions after 20 weeks when science tells us babies can feel severe pain.

With Title X funding, states should be free to prioritize the healthcare providers they find most effective at offering comprehensive healthcare services. They should not be forced to comply with Obama’s 11th hour federal mandate to fill the coffers of abortion providers like Planned Parenthood.

Congress has less than 30 legislative days left to overturn agency rules like this one and it requires only 51 votes in the Senate. This means that this legislation must pass soon in the U.S. Senate.

Rep. Charlie Dent needs to hear from you! Please call him and let him know that his vote against Rep. Diane Black's H.J. Res. 43 disapproval resolution was very disappointing and disturbing. Urge him to allow states to defund Planned Parenthood and reallocate those funds to health care providers who do not perform abortions!

You can call Rep. Dent’s Washington D.C. Office at 202-225-6411.

After you've called, you can also send him an email.

Thank you for helping to end the forced partnership between the taxpayers and Planned Parenthood.

Sincerely,

The FRC Action Team
