The Balking Dead

Apparently, zombies are too busy eating brains to use theirs! In a surprise announcement, fans of the flesh-devourers were sad to learn that the annual "Walker Stalker Convention" in North Carolina is being delayed over H.B. 2. Of course, most dead people don't need bathrooms -- but in some parts of the country, they do vote with regularity. Organizers say they're postponing the gore from June to December in hopes that Governor Pat McCrory (R-N.C.) will be so persuaded by the zombies' decision that he'll force businesses to adopt the Left's unpopular policy. "Walker Stalker Convention has always been a place for ALL fans, regardless of who they are, or who they love. As such, we must add our voice to those opposing the injustice of North Carolina House Bill 2" said the zombie faithful. Apparently, zombies, like most on the Left, don't read -- or they'd know that all H.B. 2 does is stop the government from forcing businesses to adopt gender-confused bathrooms.

The LGBT(Z) push got another boost in London this week, when President Obama decided to ignore the important crises of the world and update Britain on America's P.C. W.C.s. In another embarrassing display of the president's backwards and dangerous priorities, he took time to blast North Carolina and Mississippi. Measures that protect religious liberty and public safety, Obama insisted, "are wrong and should be overturned." The president also took time out for other crucial issues -- like memorializing Prince. Maybe if President Obama focused his attention on keeping America safe instead of bullying North Carolina over bathrooms, ISIS wouldn't be infiltrating America, Russia wouldn't be taunting our military and Iran, and North Korea wouldn't be testing our resolve by firing ballistic missiles.

The ridiculousness of the Left's potty politics aren't lost on the Wall Street Journal, which eviscerated the president's party for its increasingly anti-science bent. On issues like abortion, climate change, and now gender, the "progressives" are everything but. By abandoning cutting-edge medicine and technology for the regressive principles of political correctness, the Left is setting its party back. "Barack Obama invoked in his maiden inaugural address, when he promised to 'restore science to its rightful place,'" William McGurn argues. "Well, the American people have now had almost eight years of it. Turns out that restoring-science-to-its-rightful-place comes with its own set of dogmas and orthodoxies. It's not just letting men into women's restrooms, either. On a host of issues, upholding the progressive catechism these days apparently requires seeking out and punishing heretics too... From climate change to restrooms, Democrats are increasingly the anti-science party."

The media, of course, ignores these evidence-based realities -- and, McGurn goes on, it isn't hard to see why. "For it contradicts the dominant narrative in which Democrats take their positions from a clear-eyed look at the science while Republicans are blinded by their religious, social and economic orthodoxies." Whatever the Left is selling, voters aren't buying. In a massive rejection of the LGBT-corporate alliance, Americans are refusing to be taken hostage by the Left's dangerous policies. The coast-to-coast Target boycott is blazing through social media -- racking up a record-shattering 708,900 signers in just days! USA Today and other media outlets are racing to cover the backlash, which isn't just reflected at retailers -- but public polling too. The Left may live to regret its gender overreach, surveys show, as support for the bathroom free-for-all is dropping fast. Reuters was surprised to see how fast, citing a 10-point surge in the number of Americans who oppose the idea of genderless bathrooms in just nine days.

FRC is helping to highlight the corporate hypocrisy in North Carolina and Mississippi with a new ad that's caught the attention of the Washington Times, the Blaze, Christian Post, and local outlets. The issue has become such a rallying cry that Governor McCrory is even campaigning on it! While some might have shrunk back, McCrory is going on the offensive. In new commercials, "The clips ... should help refresh your memory that the topic of bathrooms was first raised by the radical Left when -- over warnings from the governor and other state leaders that they should have left restroom norms way they were and focus on things ... [North Carolina Attorney General] Roy Cooper's allies decided to push through Charlotte's radical bathroom mandate anyway," said campaign spokesman Ricky Diaz.
