WASHINGTON, D.C. – Family Research Council Action (FRC Action) recently released its annual scorecard “True Blue” award winners for the First Session of the 116th Congress. U.S. Sen. • Confirmation of Sarah Pitlyk to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri

Family Research Council Action President Tony Perkins made the following comment:

“We thank Sen. Inhofe for voting to defend and advance faith, family, and freedom. As a 'True Blue’ member, he voted 100% on FRC Action's Scorecard, including to protect babies who are born alive after a failed abortion, end taxpayer funding of abortion, and confirm pro-life, originalist judicial appointments.

“Oklahomans should be encouraged to know that they have a champion like Sen. Inhofe in Congress, who has consistently stood up for life, family, and religious liberty, helping to defeat many bad pieces of legislation while the Trump administration and many state legislatures have been advancing pro-life, pro-family, and pro-religious liberty policies,” concluded Perkins.

Senator Inhofe said: “My faith and my family are my greatest blessings. I am humbled to receive the ‘True Blue’ Award from the Family Research Council for voting to support family values, life, and religious liberty.

“In my role in Congress, I make a point to fight for policies that protect the unborn. I’m not the only one. I am proud to say we have the most pro-life president in history. We have worked together to guarantee that federal tax dollars can't go toward abortion by protecting the Hyde Amendment and reinstating and expanding the Mexico City policy. We have also stripped abortion providers, like Planned Parenthood, of using federal Title X funding for abortions. And we're not done. Among the many pro-life bills I am supporting, I am the lead sponsor of a bill to prohibit abortion based on a Down syndrome diagnosis.

“I am also proud of our joint efforts to fight for religious liberty, one of our most precious and foundational freedoms. President Trump has stood up for this freedom at home and we are making it a focus around the world. Religious freedom is threatened or banned among approximately 80 percent of the world’s population—under President Trump, the United States is standing up for these persecuted minorities by providing additional humanitarian aid as well as assistance for the protection of religious sites.”
